This work analyzes the pedagogical-political proposals of Ramón López Pinto (1889 -1907), Inspector visiting the Schools of the Province of Tarapacá. Said registry leaves record of how the local educational players denounced the low impact of the classes as well as the endemic problems they evidenced, which permits questioning the traditional relation of dependence between the fiscal school agency and the process of chilenization of the population of Tarapacá.
